August 26, 2009—Richmond International Raceway is getting ready to rock! For the seventh straight year, the sounds of rock & roll and the intensity of NASCAR racing will merge at the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. This year’s event features a pre-race concert by The All-American Rejects. The chart-topping rock band will perform on the frontstretch of Richmond International Raceway on Saturday, September 12, at 5:45 p.m., followed by the start of “One Last Race to Make the Chase”—the Chevy Rock & Roll 400.

“Each year we look forward to the rock & roll theme Chevy brings to Richmond International Raceway for one of the most anticipated weekends on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule,” said Richmond International Raceway president Doug Fritz. “The annual pre-race concert is always a fan favorite and is sure to be a hit again this year with The All-American Rejects. It will be a great buildup prior to ‘One Last Race to Make the Chase’ – the Chevy Rock & Roll 400.”

An American rock band formed in 2001 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, The All-American Rejects have released three studio albums that have garnered the band critical and mainstream success worldwide.

“We’re really psyched to be playing at the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 this year,” said The All-American Rejects lead singer Tyson Ritter. "We've been breaking our backs in Europe on the ‘I Wanna Rock Tour’ this summer, so it will be great performing at Richmond International Raceway. Get ready for a show, because the Rejects are gonna melt your faces. Racing and Rock & Roll – it doesn’t get any more All-American!”

Fans with tickets to the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race can watch the concert from the stands, but to see The All-American Rejects up close, individuals can receive an on-track concert credential while supplies last by participating in the Chevy Challenge at the Chevy display in Chevy Fan Fest at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday, September 12.

Tickets for the NASCAR doubleheader weekend, September 11-12, at Richmond International Raceway, are on sale now. Saturday’s Chevy Rock & Roll 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event is “One Last Race to Make the Chase.” Once the checkered flag drops, the field will be set for the 2009 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Only the top 12 drivers in the point standings will be eligible to win the series championship, making this one of the most important stops on the schedule.  Tickets, which start at $40, can be purchased by logging on to or calling 866-455-RACE (7223).

The weekend begins on Friday, September 11, with a full day of on-track activity, highlighted by the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race “under the lights.”  Friday’s ticket also includes practice and WRIC-TV8 Pole Qualifying for the Nationwide Series and practice and Fas Mart Pole Qualifying for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  Friday’s tickets are $45 (reserved) and $35 (general admission) in advance. Children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult in general admission sections on Friday only. Please log on to or call 866-455-RACE (7223) for tickets and information.
