United States Air Force Major General Dorothy Hogg Named Honorary Race Official for the Federated Auto Parts 400
Richmond Raceway is proud to announce Maj. Gen. Dorothy Hogg, Deputy Surgeon General and Chief of the Air Force Nurse Corps, as the Honorary Race Official for the Federated Auto Parts 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race on Saturday, Sept. 9. As part of her honorary position, Gen. Hogg will be introduced at the Monster Energy Series Driver/Crew Chief Meeting as well as on-stage during Pre-Race Driver Introductions for the Federated Auto Parts 400.
Gen. Hogg directs operations of the Air Force Medical Service; a 44,000-person health care delivery system serving 2.6 million beneficiaries at 76 hospitals and clinics worldwide. She also oversees the daily functions of the Air Force Surgeon General's office.
Gen. Hogg joined the Air Force in 1984 and has commanded at the squadron and group level. She’s served as the deputy command surgeon for two major commands and has deployed in support of operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.
During her tenure in the United States Air Force, Gen. Hogg has received the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with silver and two oak leaf clusters, and the Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters.

Richmond Raceway hosts NASCAR for two nights of racing “under the lights” on September 8-9. The fall race weekend, presented by Who’s Your Driver, will see history on display as Dale Earnhardt Jr. makes his final, career, two-race appearance as a driver.
The weekend gets started on Friday, Sept. 8, with on-track practice for both series and the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs Pole Qualifying for both weekend races. The action then dials up as the rising stars of tomorrow compete in the Virginia529 College Savings 250 NASCAR XFINITY Series race at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m., the sport’s best take to the track for the Federated Auto Parts 400 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race as NASCAR crowns its regular season champion.
