Denny Hamlin Visits RICHMOND NATION
3/31/2015
Fresh off his win in Martinsville, NASCAR Sprint Cup driver and Chesterfield's-own Denny Hamlin found himself behind a different kind of wheel as he cruised around his hometown yesterday. The driver of the No. 11 FedEx Toyota Camry hopped into a FedEx delivery van and "The Deliverminator" dropped off tickets and some racing swag to a couple lucky RICHMOND NATION members.
"Spreading some joy, some gifts. Ourselves and RIR and the Toyota Family and FedEx are delivering some season tickets to some season ticket holders that are Denny Hamlin fans.," said Denny during his time in Richmond "It's great, getting to go out and promote the [TOYOTA OWNERS 400]. Richmond is a track we love to perform well at. It's the hometown track for me." |
After his afternoon tour of the capital city Denny found himself back in Victory Lane for the second time in three days - this time for an exclusive interview with WRIC-TV8 shot in front of a RICHMOND NATION audience. We can't say much about what was said just yet- but be sure to tune in to Channel 8 on race week to find out just how much Richmond means to Denny.
"I love racing (at Richmond), its my favorite race track. I've watched so many laps on the other side of the stands. Watching my favorite driver, Bill Elliott, and some of the greats at Richmond was awesome. To watch it for 10 years as a kid and now get to participate and its still surreal that I get to participate in," said Hamlin.
NASCAR returns to Richmond International Raceway April 24 & 25. And back by popular demand, Track Takeover at RIR on Saturday, April 25. Fans can get out onto the Action Track just hours before the green flag waves for the 2015 TOYOTA OWNERS 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event, all you need is a ticket to the race!
