The Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway marks “One Last Race to Make The Chase.” After the checkered flag drops on Saturday, September 12, the field will be set for this season’s Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Following the Chevy Rock & Roll 400, only the top 12 drivers in the point standings will be eligible to win the series championship, which is decided over the final 10 races of the season.
Because the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 is the 26th race on the schedule, the race will serve as the cutoff point, rendering the event “One Last Race to Make The Chase.” Some intense battles have been witnessed at the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 races over the past several years. This year is expected to be just as exciting, with so many talented drivers looking to earn a berth in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Who will be in and who will be out? In 2007, Dale Earnhardt Jr. narrowly missed a shot at the championship. In 2006, Kasey Kahne bumped Tony Stewart from the top 12. Fans won’t want to miss this one!
