Richmond International Raceway will celebrate the ninth annual NASCAR Day on Friday, May 18, by giving fans extra incentive to share their passion for the sport and make a difference in the lives of children this year. Fans who purchase a NASCAR Day 2012 lapel pin at the track on May 18, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will receive a complimentary Pace Car ride.

The NASCAR Foundation will recognize the outstanding charitable and volunteer efforts of NASCAR fans by awarding the Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award in December, which includes a $100,000 donation from The NASCAR Foundation to the children’s charity of the recipient’s choice.
